Subject: More NDC lies-contd

So while I am in full agreement with the observation, I question if our government really understands the essential truth of Mr. Crow's observation. If they did, one would have expected them to at least say thank you for the construction of the cemetery project that should have been their responsibility in the first place. One would also have expected them to gladly complete the water connection and take over the toilets' maintenance so that mourners would already be using a private and respectable place to relieve themselves when nature calls. This would at least have given our St. John’s representative an opportunity to appear to be doing something for Gouyave. Why isn’t the government, particularly our own St. John's representative readily seizing the opportunity to be the voice of Gouyave people who have spent their own private money, not government's, to improve our Gouyave? Our current government, as well as those in the past, appears to be unable or unwilling to do the things that our Gouyave sorely needs, yet when private citizens take on the task to relieve them of a cost, they seem to choose to remain absolutely uncooperative ans deadly silent. Is that their way of continuing to show their total disregard or shall I say disdain for our Gouyave? Again I ask where is our representative when Gouyave needs him?

Meanwhile our ST. JOHN'S UPLIFTMENT GROUP was lambasted by posters on www.goGouyave.com since they assumed that we did not finish the job. We ignored the idle and baseless criticisms about the toilets even from some who knew better. We deliberately and steadfastly kept quiet despite our natural instinct to reply when the toilets were disparagingly referred to as a "white elephant." We kept our peace all the while hoping that in the background we would have still gotten the government to finally live up to the promises they made so that the idle comments would have been exposed for the nonsense that they were.

Now like Bob Marley, our ST. JOHN'S UPLIFTMENT GROUP is tired waiting in vain. If the NNP was in power and had behaved the same way with us, we would have been just as exasperated and go public just as we are with doing now with the NDC. Let me repeat again that our ST. JOHN'S UPLIFTMENT GROUP has absolutely no political affiliations and cares less about which party is in power. Our sole focus is improving the socila millieu of Gouyave. We have no problem cooperating with anyone who has the same interest. We have built the cemetery shed extension and the toilets. The members of our Group gladly donated our hard-earned money as well as raising additional sums to build the structures that we recognized were sorely needed in the cemetery. We are willing, and ready to turn it over to the government whenever they are willing to accept it. That they are making no effort to do so and make the water connection in order that the people of St. John can use it during burials, is the NDC’s problem and no longer that of the ST. JOHN'S UPLIFTMENT GROUP. We have done our part which was the bulk of the work. It’s now up to our representative Michael Church and his NDC administration to do theirs, which is to connect water to the toilet and accept the building’s maintenance.

John Crow stated that “there is not a politician, alive, dead, or unborn who can remedy the situation in our beloved Grenada.” We pray that the government will one day show that they also recognize that fact, and cooperate with those who through their own efforts have done and are willing to continue doing their work for them, all because we love our home town.

We dare anyone to dispute these facts, and/or give a reasoned alternate view point.
